EU Officials: Just 0.3% Of Sahara’s Sun Energy Could Power Entire EU

The largest fully industrialized populus in the world could be entirely powered by a small fraction of solar desert energy, according to new plan.
“If we could realise that in the Mediterranean, for example in southern Italy, this would correspond to electricity prices in the range of 15 cents per kWh, something below what the average consumer is paying.”
However, before the plan could help the EU meet its target of cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 20 per cent by 2020, much time and investment is needed, the scientists working on the project say.
But they estimate that with an investment of around €450bn (£356bn) it could produce 100 GW by 2050, more than the combined electricity output from all sources in Britain.

Microsoft Services – Consultant Infrastructure

PURPOSE OF THIS JOB

Building upon a solid IT infrastructure experience relative to his level, the consultant will be responsible for assisting the customers, designing architecture and providing the best in class implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivery of high quality engagements around Microsoft suite of infrastructure technologies and products (eg.: Windows Server, Exchange, System Center, SQL etc.) into diverse client environments leveraging available IP and following defined delivery methodologies and service offerings(eg: Microsoft Solution Framework);

  • Ability to understand customer environments, constraints and requirements;
  • Design and presentation of an integrated solution using the latest Microsoft products and technologies;
  • Develop architectural design documents based on existing examples or new requirements;
  • Map technical information to customer’s context;
  • Create local prototype to test solution;
  • Understand the operation implications of the designed/developed solution;
  • Respond customer’s needs via phone calls, emails, and one to one meetings;
  • Initiate contacts and conduct meetings with customers, providing them advisory;
  • Project plans, Execution and Risk analysis;
  • Identify customer’s required deliverables and all the task for the project;
  • Create and develop high level plan and estimate timelines and resources;
  • Monitor and adjust estimates to integrate new constraints; conduct project, close out meetings;
  • Meet with internal and partner specialist to get feedback and commitment to the project plan;
  • Presentation and training for customer and partners;
  • Research knowledge base and collect reference materials.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in Information technology
  • Experience in a business infrastructure and platform consulting role 8 years
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Platform Products, Architecture and Solutions (eg. Windows Server, Networking, Clustering, Security, Deploying and Managing solutions)
  • Very good knowledge of at least one of the following Microsoft Products, besides Windows Server : Exchange, OCS, System Center, SQL, MOSS
  • At least 5 years of experience with solutions on MS technology and products (deployment, consolidation, migration, high availability)
  • Good knowledge of project management methodology
  • Knowledge in Security techniques and standards are very appreciate
  • Fluent English (written, spoken)

  • Business and functional analysis skills
  • Project leadership
  • Strong communication skills
